These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Machel Car Rental ("Machel", "we", "us"). By booking a vehicle, requesting a service or using our website, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
To rent or drive a vehicle you must be at least 23 years of age and hold a valid driver's licence accepted in Nigeria. We may request additional identification and verify documents before confirming a self-drive rental.
For chauffeured services, the eligibility requirements apply to the booking party rather than the passenger.
All bookings are subject to vehicle availability and confirmation by Machel. Prices are quoted before you commit, and the agreed rate is the price you pay — there are no hidden charges.
Payment terms, deposits and accepted methods are communicated at the time of booking. Corporate clients may be eligible for monthly billing arrangements.
You may cancel or amend a booking by contacting us. Cancellations made well in advance are generally free of charge, while late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee as set out at the time of booking.
Vehicles must be used lawfully and only for their intended purpose. Sub-letting, racing, off-road use, transporting hazardous goods or carrying more passengers than the vehicle's rated capacity is strictly prohibited.
The renter is responsible for the vehicle during the rental period and must return it in the condition it was received, subject to fair wear and tear.
Unless otherwise agreed, vehicles are provided with a set fuel level and should be returned at the same level. Where a vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refuelling charge may apply at prevailing rates.
Machel maintains its vehicles to a high standard but is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from delays, traffic conditions or events beyond our reasonable control. Our total liability is limited to the value of the booking concerned.
The renter is responsible for any damage, loss or traffic violations occurring during the rental period that are not covered by insurance. Any damage must be reported to Machel immediately, and applicable costs will be assessed fairly and communicated clearly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from your use of our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
